The client
Kitepost supplies housewares to independent retailers and online sellers from a single 60,000 sq ft warehouse. Peak season order volumes triple, and temporary staff need to be productive on their first shift.
The challenge
- ✕Pickers worked from printed lists and walked the warehouse in order-number sequence.
- ✕Wrong items and short picks caused costly returns and re-deliveries.
- ✕Stock was updated in ERPNext only after orders were packed, so availability lagged.
- ✕New seasonal staff needed days of training to learn bin locations.
The solution
Guided picking
Batch picking with optimised walk paths across bins, zones and pick faces.
Scan-to-verify
Every item, bin and carton is scanned, and mismatches are blocked at the shelf, not at dispatch.
Receiving and put-away
Goods receipts against purchase orders with suggested put-away bins.
Live stock updates
Each scan posts to ERPNext immediately, so available stock is always current.

- ✓Order accuracy reached 99.7%, and returns for wrong items dropped sharply.
- ✓Seasonal staff were productive on their first shift.
- ✓Stock availability online now matches the shelf in real time.
“Peak season used to mean overtime and apologies. This year we shipped more with the same team and fewer complaints.”
